My Soundscape!

This is the soundscape that Gretchen and I created. Our emotion that we had to portray in this soundscape was WORRY. And above is one of the photos that went with our soundscape. I hope you like it!

And here are a couple other soundscapes that you should check out because they are AWESOME! They are by Joey Buccini, Brie Donovan, and Angela Salerno

  1. This sound scape really stood out to me because I immediately felt the emotion that Lauren and her partner were trying to convey. The singing in the beginning of the track is unsettling and makes the listener ask whats next. Every distinct aspect of the whole from the beads, to the singing, to the flute make me feel I am in a Middle Eastern market. Though they are all different I was able to draw a picture of the whole. This aspect is called the proximity in Gestalt’s principals and it is evident that this was used in the sound scape. The Manipulation of space was because of Lauren's use of a deep listening mode. There were a mantra of several sounds in different places that made the scene seem so large. Worth mentioning was the use of the piano. I don’t know if it is just me, but when I hear grand pianos playing slowly I feel a bit of tension. Apparently Lauren does too, because she used it just right to create worry in the listener. I liked this sound scape, because it did in fact give me the emotion of worry and it was also done in great fashion when it comes to creating audio scapes
